By annotating black-and-white aerial landscape photographs using a marker—drawing lines which divided and marked certain areas artificially and arbitrarily—I created a series of several dozen quasi-maps, showing fictional, hypothetical situations set in an undefined time and in an undefined place. The visual language of maps that I used to this end, being a universally known and comprehensible language of science, makes the situations I create credible. Thanks to this intervention the depicted events, seemingly absurd, come across as realistic scenarios.
